Happy Tuesday!
👋 Welcome to a free edition of the newsletter. At least 3 times a week you’ll get a playbook of digital growth hacks that makes your business convert-higher, smarter, and leaner making you more profitable.
Most entrepreneurs think customers love browsing—like they’ve all got all the time in the world. 😎
The reality?
People are busy juggling 501 things. If it’s not fast, they’re out.
Smart entrepreneurs build their websites for *exactly* that.👇
Step 1: Understand *how* your customer shops
55% of shoppers bail if they can’t find what they need fast.
70% of mobile shoppers buy from brands that make checkout easy.
Sites with smart filters see 8-12% more conversions.
(Source: Google, Baymard Institute, people who hate waiting.)
Let’s be real:
A lot (like probably more than most) of people have forgotten a birthday or something has just happened and they need to send someone something ASAP.
They don’t have time to go to the shop — they need it to arrive tomorrow and they’d prefer it if it didn’t come in an Amazon box.
Key insight: how fast this thing can be delivered is REALLLY important*. 📊
*Buyers drivers for purchase are soooo underrated. Most design fancy landing pages, and spend a fortune on over-edited pictures, when really, if it’s a pretty bunch of flowers that arrive on time, I’m happy.
Step 2: Design your landing page *around* that
In 2024, Bloom & Wild's revenue hit £110.1M.
Think the Amazon of flowers (and other stuff). The *real* problem they solve: I don’t have time to buy and deliver a gift.
By highlighting that they can do super fast deliveries on some stock, they speak directly to those customers who:
Forgot their anniversary and now need something quick
Realized all their friends were sending housewarming gifts and now need to send one.
Remembered last minute it was their mum’s birthday.
Aka — all of us.
The lesson: showing your customers that you know them, and crafting your customer journey around that lands you more sales.
How you can use it for your thing 👇
Step 1: Find the #1 thing your customers care about
Do they need fast delivery?
Are they looking for the best deal?
Do they just want whatever everyone else is buying?
Step 2: Make it stupidly simple
No corporate jargon. No weird UI. Just a big, obvious button.
Instead of “Browse Our Extensive Collection,” try “Psst… Want the Best Sellers?”
Step 3: Cut the friction
17% of people abandon checkout because it takes too long.
If they’re clicking, scrolling, or second-guessing—you’re losing money.
Bonus - Use *implicit* messaging
You can go beyond just saying ‘get fast delivery’ or ‘want the best-sellers’.
You don’t have to call out directly the driver for buying, you can do it through implicit message. Aka terms that ‘mean’ the thing but don’t call it out directly.
Like HotJar does here…
Customers make associations with past experiences.
When they see ‘credit card required’ what they actually read is ‘this is going to take forever’ and HotJar does a great job of making sure that isn’t a blocker for people experiencing the product.
🏆 The Website Fix-It Checklist
If your site isn’t making money, here’s what to check first:
✅ Clear, no-BS CTA above the fold (“Get It Fast” > “Explore Options”)
✅ Heatmaps (Hotjar, Clarity) to see where people drop off
✅ Fewer checkout steps = more sales
✅ Social proof near key decisions (“10,000+ happy customers”)
✅ Progress bar at checkout (People love finishing things)
🔧 Free Tools That Help:
Google Analytics — Spot drop-off points.
Hotjar — Watch screen recordings of real users.
Crazy Egg — Heatmaps of user clicks.
PageSpeed Insights — Fix slow loading times (speed = sales).
🚀 5-Minute Website Audit (Steal This)
Ask yourself these questions:
Can people tell what I sell in 3 seconds?
Is the most important button stupidly obvious?
Can someone buy in 3 clicks or less?
Is my site fast, or could I make a coffee while it loads?
Are there unnecessary fields in my forms? (Nobody wants to give you their life story.)
If you answered no to any of these, there’s money on the table. Go fix it.
Your website isn’t a museum. People don’t want to explore. They want to find and buy.
Make buying stupidly easy, and you’ll get more sales.
Much love,
