The weather here has been a pile of crap recently and itâs weird how much that affects your mood? If the sky is crying somehow it makes me feel like crying⊠is that just me? Anyway, on to the good stuff.
Lately, Iâve been thinking a lot about the point of having goals, like seriously, what is the point? Iâve thought instead about the benefit of having more mindful practices. So instead of âI want to be an NYT bestsellerâ it changes to âI want to show up and enjoy my writing every dayâ. Either way, Iâm still writing every day but it just feels less daunting, you know? It was sparked from writing this piece:

The morning routine has become somewhat of a modern-day phenomenon.
For some reason, weâre interested in how strangers over the internet start their day. Interested in the wrong word. Obsessed thatâs better. Weâre obsessed.
In fact, things have even gotten a little weird.
Anyone that professes to wake up at 5 is, take a cold shower, spending 15 minutes as a downward dog, and neck a spinach smoothie before going for an âeasyâ 5k, holds godlike powers.
